Framing might seem like an unnecessary expense, especially for artists on a tight budget, but in my experience, it is a valuable investment when selling artwork. I recently had the painting above framed and am very pleased with the result. The frame provides the piece with more breathing room and definition, which is particularly effective when the composition is dynamic and full of expressive brushstrokes. This painting was originally created on a larger stretcher, but I chose to crop slightly on the left side and have it re-stretched accordingly. Working this way gives me greater creative freedom, as I don’t feel limited by fixed dimensions.
