Simon Boyd is an Argentine-British painter whose semi-abstract landscapes explore memory, transformation and imagination.

Living and working between Argentina and the United Kingdom, Boyd draws inspiration from the vast horizons of La Pampa, the subtropical forests of Misiones and the waterfalls of Iguazú. These environments are transformed into vibrant paintings that combine observation, invention and symbolism.

Boyd’s paintings occupy a dynamic space between representation and abstraction, using colour, gesture and layered imagery to evoke both physical and psychological landscapes. Birds, spheres, rainbows and fragmented natural forms recur throughout his work, creating a personal visual vocabulary that reflects themes of movement, perception and connection.

His practice is characterised by a balance between structure and spontaneity. Through a process of layering, revision and experimentation, descriptive elements dissolve into expressive passages of colour and mark-making, allowing each painting to emerge as a dialogue between the seen world and the imagined one.

Drawing upon experiences of travel, migration and a life lived between two cultures, Boyd approaches landscape as a fluid territory where memory, sensation and imagination intersect. His paintings invite viewers into immersive spaces that encourage contemplation, wonder and a renewed sense of connection to place.

Simon Boyd graduated with honours in Fine Art from Middlesex University, London. He has exhibited extensively in Argentina, the United Kingdom and Spain, taking part in solo and group exhibitions, art fairs and biennials. His work has been recognised through awards and exhibition selections, and is held in private collections throughout the United Kingdom, Argentina, the United States, Canada, Australia and Europe.
